System Suite 12 not working well

Installed upgrade to 12.  Computer bogs down.  Looses internet connection.  Uninstalled and re-installed.  No improvement.  Running OK in safe mode to send this message.  HP Pavilion a1710n with Windows Vista Ultimate, 3 GB RAM, AMD CPU.

Hello Nils,

Did you have a previous version of the program installed on this system? Do you have any other virus programs on the computer? If you go to about in System Suite, what is the version number listed?

Hello Nils,

The first thing I would like to do is just re install the program, just to rule out a bad install. Begin by uninstalling the program. Following the uninstall make certain you check the install directory at C:\Program Files\Avanquest  (the default installation directory) for any remaining files or folders. Delete any files and folders that you find. Once you have done this proceed with the reinstall of the software

Followed above...PC operation seems OK now...have not run scans or optimize yet.

Ran scan and optimize.  All OK except there seems to be 130MB of temp files that can not be deleted so maintenance never gets to 100%.

Also I seem to be getting port scans noted by Net Defense from my own PC 127.0.0.1?  Any way to stop that?

Hello Nils,

Please go to the Tools tab in your browser (s) manually delete the browsing history. Do this for every installed browser on the system. Once you have done this, run the tool again and see if it will run with out freezing.

As far as the port scan you can add the IP to the fire wall.  To do so

SystemSuite > Firewall > settings > general > ADVANCED RULES -> ADD -> configure below:
- General Tab
---- Rule Description: Call what you wish
---- Action: Allow this traffic
---- Advanced Settings: All network interface cards
---- Screensaver Mode: Both on and off
---- Record this traffic in "Packet Log" [OPTIONAL]
- Hosts Tab
---- Remote Host: All addresses
Under the Ip section enter in the IP in question then ok the changes

Thank you!  These changes seems to have fixed the issues.  Is the Sunbelt Software antivirus in System Suite the same as their Vipre antivirus?
